"Toys & Puzzles"
This book has some really cool stuff in it. multi-layer puzzles, animal shape puzzles, and all of the patterns. most of it is done on my favorate wood - 1X (which is really 3/4 inch pine). I find 1X boards reasonably(?) priced up to 1X6 here in Phoenix. I can't wait to dig in, though it will be a few weeks before I can post anything from it.

"Scroll Saw Puzzles" is another thick book. It feels worth the investment. 56 patterns that look straightforward on the Scroll Saw. I think these are going to be a lot of fun. Patterns again with the picture and not in the back of the book! Oh, it's a beginner book - just what I need :)

"Colorful Toys (That Stack, Rock, and Roll)" is filled with more Scroll Saw fun. I love the idea of stacking the shapes and the way they have figured out how to do it. The book is really thin, but seems to be complete. I'll share my experience as we go along this journey together - please do the same!

"Adorable Animal Family Puzzles in Wood" seems super easy at first glance. They seem like you can make simple passes with the Scroll Saw which aren't too complex. Complete patterns which are kindly with the pictures, and not in the back of the book.

"Making Toys that Teach" had me from the cover picture. I have no idea how to cut those octagons, but I'm down to learn! It also has great building block set ideas throughout, which is core to our foundation :) The tool requirements in here are steep - I don't have a band saw yet, so if anyone is looking for charitable contributions for Christmas!!

"Animated animal Toys in wood" is much more than I thought it would be. It is probably more than I can chew right now, but has some really cool stuff in it. There is a real dinosaur/sea creature theme to it, which I dig. But, planers and routers and sons of jigs are involved - not for the amature - lol
